WOW!! The Snow has arrived...

Yikes, the snow has arrived.. we have roughly 16 inches of the white cold powdery stuff.. Hopefully it will melt soon.. at least before the next blizzard. Plymouth was like a fairy story all dusted in white, twinkling lights, absolutely beautiful. The roads were deserted during the storm but as soon as they were passable, out came all the people... At least it feels and looks like Christmas, because before you know it.. Spring will be here and tourists will be back!

It's Winter Here in America's Hometown!

So much has happened since I last blogged.... The Thanksgiving Parade was a huge success largely due to the weather; it was perfect. Just enough chill in the air, so you know it's Thanksgiving time, yet not to bitterly cold. The bands were great, Tops In Blue were fantastic. Everyone enjoyed themselves. It's starting to quiet down now, some restaurants are closing for the season, the main attractions, i.e. Plimoth Plantation, Capt. John's Whale Watching and the Jenney Grist Mill have also closed for the season. But still open and open all year long is the Dead Of Night Ghost Tours, a hauntingly fun walking tour through graveyards and historic places in Plymouth. The stores are all abuzz with frantic Christmas shoppers. All kinds of holiday celebrations are going on, house tours, wine tastings, tree lightings, santa breakfasts, Christmas story readings... really too many to mention them all. It's like a Dickens card come to life. January will bring lots of birding groups and star gazing groups, see http://www.seeplymouth.com/ for more information. Also, at the Comfort Inn we will be having special packages, including a Romance Spa Package and a Shop, Play and Stay Package, for all of you who want to cash in on the after-holiday sales! I'll try to post more often.. have a great day and a wonderful holiday season.

YUM! Another great find!

Sorry for the delay in getting back into this blog. I've been a wee bit busy. Just thought I should share this with you.. I've worked in this area for a LONG time and I just recently found a little restaurant on the waterfront called: Carmen's Cafe Nicole. YUM YUM YUM... My hubby and I went there Sunday for breakfast.. let me tell you... I had their Bananas Foster French Toast OMG it was fabulous!! Not too sweet, the french toast was fluffy, bananas a plenty, with a caramel sauce....Hubby had biscuits and gravy which he said was very good. The menu featured the usual bacon & eggs, etc but they had some dishes that had a Mexican flair to them. I love going out for breakfast to places that offer something out of the ordinary. I want to go back and try the Chile Rellenos breakfast. We only got to see the breakfast menu so I can't comment on the lunches. Every so often I will give you my opinion on different places to eat in the area.

This past weekend, Columbus Day Weekend, was the big weekend for Cranberry Festivals. As always they were packed with people from everywhere. Visitors this time of year are treated to a beautiful display of fall foliage reflecting off the ponds that surround the bogs. If you've never been to this part of the country, fall is a great time to come, the air is crisp and the colors intense. Well that's it for now.. have a great day and come visit Plymouth you'll be glad you did!

Aaahh a relaxing weekend

This past weekend as you probably noticed from my last posting was very busy for some. I on the other hand had a very relaxing weekend! Saturday was a beautiful day, blue skies, no clouds, and smooth seas.. My hubby and I went over to Martha's Vineyard on the Hy-Line cruise out of Hyannis. It took about an hour and half to get there but, like I said the seas were calm and the sun was shining. We spent about 4 1/2 hours there, checking out the art galleries, picnicing on the beach and checking out some of the shops. A trip to Martha's Vineyard is always a pleasure, there are many restaurants, shops and most important beaches, beaches, beaches. To end the perfect day - dinner at Khura Thai in Buzzards Bay, gotta love the Beef Crazy Noodles, hot!! Yum!!! A rainy Sunday kept me in to watch our New England Patriots stomp on the Atlanta Falcons 26-10. Sorry Atlanta it was looking good for you for a little while until Tom (Brady) finally found his groove. Have a great day!
