Aaahh a relaxing weekend

This past weekend as you probably noticed from my last posting was very busy for some. I on the other hand had a very relaxing weekend! Saturday was a beautiful day, blue skies, no clouds, and smooth seas.. My hubby and I went over to Martha's Vineyard on the Hy-Line cruise out of Hyannis. It took about an hour and half to get there but, like I said the seas were calm and the sun was shining. We spent about 4 1/2 hours there, checking out the art galleries, picnicing on the beach and checking out some of the shops. A trip to Martha's Vineyard is always a pleasure, there are many restaurants, shops and most important beaches, beaches, beaches. To end the perfect day - dinner at Khura Thai in Buzzards Bay, gotta love the Beef Crazy Noodles, hot!! Yum!!! A rainy Sunday kept me in to watch our New England Patriots stomp on the Atlanta Falcons 26-10. Sorry Atlanta it was looking good for you for a little while until Tom (Brady) finally found his groove. Have a great day!

Fall Happenings

Autumn officially began this week! With the coming of fall many events in our area are planned. One of the largest events this weekend (9/25 -9/27/09) is the 40th Annual Bourne Scallop Festival, www.bournescallopfest.com. This event has something for everyone with arts & crafts, great food and drink, live entertainment, and a midway! The Plimoth Plantation is hosting a GLBT day on 9/26/09, "Out at Plimoth Plantation". In nearby Carver at Edaville Railroad the Community Heroes Festival is happening 9/26 & 9/27. This festival honors our heroes, fire fighters, police, paramedics, the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. There will be an appearance by Spiderman and Wolverine for 10am - 5pm.

Remember the water is still warm, the beach is less crowded and one of the best kept secrets "Sandy's On The Beach" is still open for the freshest seafood and best sunsets in Plymouth.

The weekends at the hotel are busy, so we have very attractive rates for mid-week stays.

Don't forget to make you reservations early for the America's Hometown Parade weekend 11/20 -22/09!!!

It Feels Like Fall - Apple Picking Time!

Well here it is September already and it definately feels like fall!! The mornings are "crisp", days warm up, then the nights are brisk. Great time for apple picking! Speaking of apple picking there are many orchards in our area with LOTS of apples! This is going to be a banner year with all the rain we had earlier. Start a new family tradition - come to Plymouth bring the kids to an orchard for a hay ride, petting zoo and apple picking, don't forget the fresh apple cide and baked goodies!

King Richard's Faire is still going on in Carver until October 25, 2009! The faire is a recreation of a 16th century English marketplace at festival time. A lot of music, dancing, laughing, wonderful zoo, and wonderful food and drink are enjoyed by all. We are the closest hotel to the faire, just a quick 8 miles and your there, come stay in comfort at the Comfort Inn!
